1. What we collect
When you use PodCut, we collect:
- Email address — if you join our waitlist.
- Uploaded media files — audio or video files you submit for analysis. These are processed in memory and are not permanently stored on our servers.
- Usage data — basic analytics such as page views and feature usage, collected via Vercel Analytics.
2. How we use your data
- Uploaded files are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription and GPT-4o for analysis. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to this processing.
- Waitlist emails are stored in our database (Upstash Redis) solely to notify you about product updates and launch availability.
- We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data retention
- Uploaded media files are processed in real-time and deleted from server memory after analysis completes. No copies are retained.
- Job metadata (transcript, highlights) is stored temporarily for up to 1 hour to allow you to view results, then automatically deleted.
- Waitlist emails are retained until you request removal.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- OpenAI — for transcription (Whisper) and content analysis (GPT-4o).
- Vercel — for hosting and deployment.
- Upstash — for temporary data storage (Redis).
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of your waitlist email at any time.
- Know what data we hold about you.
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
